2021 Winter Break Holiday Camp Announced!

Join Nike Tennis Camp at the Alberta Tennis Centre over the 2021 winter break in Calgary. The winter break junior tennis camps combine technical instruction and drills for kids of all ages and ability levels in a state of the art facility. Join tennis professionals Suzana Cavalcante and Nick Coutts, who are excited to help every camper improve and have a great time this summer.

Whether your child is interested in learning the game, playing recreationally or aspiring to become a provincial, national or international caliber athlete, we have the right program and professional staff dedicated to helping them reach their potential as a young athlete.

Suzana Cavalcante
Camp Director

Originally from Brazil, Suzana is an accomplished tennis player who as a junior, was ranked among the Top 3 players in Brazil in every age category. She trained in Florida from the age of 12 with Patricio Apey (coach of Gabriela Sabatini) and represented Brazil internationally. Suzana competed in her first WTA event at age 13 and later became a training partner of WTA Tour players Gabriela Sabatini, Mary Pierce, Mercedes Paz, Chandra Rubin and Samantha Smith. She holds a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology and Athletic Training. Suzana is Tennis Canada High Performance Coach2 certified.

Alena Tysbouk

Alena started playing tennis at the age of 6 in her native country, Belarus. She was consistently ranked a top 10 junior player, playing both nationally and internationally. Alena came to Canada to attend the University of Calgary where she graduated with a Bachelor's of Kinesiology, Leadership in Pedagogy & Coaching with a coaching concentration. She also played on the tennis team from 2013 - 2017.

Roberto Vicentini

Roberto, originally from Brazil, started playing tennis at age 8. He has been in Canada since 2013 and comes with 25 years of coaching experience. He coaches all levels, from kids to adults in groups, private lessons and semi private settings. Roberto is a Tennis Canada certified Club Pro 1 and Cardio Tennis. Roberto's coaching goal is to transfer his passion for tennis over to his students.

Luis Reyes

Luis is originally from Chile and has a competitive background in soccer, basketball, and tennis. He began teaching tennis professionally in 2012 and his love for tennis combined with a passion for fitness has provided Luis with an opportunity to do what he truly loves: teaching tennis to engaged individuals. Luis's tennis education as well as continuing to work with the nation's best coaches are his current top priorities.

Goran Zovko

Goran comes to us from Vancouver, British Columbia. Goran is a Tennis Canada High Performance Coach 3 & Club Pro 2. He also holds Tennis Canada wheelchair tennis coaching certification. In his playing career Goran reached a top 5 provincial ranking and #1 ranking in the USTA/PNW region at U18’s. He also played club tennis in Europe and competed on futures circuits in Australia and the US. #1 in Canada at Over 30’s doubles in 2015. Goran as helped develop players that have won 5 national titles and 10 players that have received NCAA Division 1 scholarships. He has also spent time training players that have represented Croatia in Davis Cup.
Prior to arriving to the Alberta Tennis Centre, Goran worked as U10 performance director at North Vancouver Tennis Centre for over 10 years. Most recently Goran had the role of Director of Performance at The Tennis Centre Coquitlam

Adam Bond

Adam has been a tennis professional for 21 years. As a junior player he trained at The South West Tennis Academy, Somerset where he competed both nationally and internationally. He then attended The University of Wales, Cardiff for his BSc (Hons) in Sports Science and also his post graduate in Coaching Science. During his studies there he focused primarily on sports psychology and its application to working with elite performers as well as performance analysis. Since moving to Canada he has produced and worked with several players who have won junior provincial titles, been ranked No 1 in the Tennis Alberta rankings and Top 10 in Canada, qualified for nationals.

The 2021 Winter Break Camp will take place from Monday, December 20th to Thursday, December 23rd, 2021 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Choose our before & after care services from 8:00 - 9:00 am & 12:00 - 1:00 pm.

SECURE YOUR SPOT! Due to local and provincial regulations, we anticipate having to reduce our enrollment numbers significantly this year. You can expect a high demand on these first-come-first-serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

Winter Break Tennis Camp: Ages 4 - 14, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Additional Program Details

We offer Spring and Summer Camps for players ages 4-14 with a variety of programs designed for various skill levels. Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own tennis instruction needs can be addressed throughout the week. Please register your child for a program in their appropriate age bracket. If you wish to enroll your child for a program above their age bracket, you will require coaches permission prior to starting. Registration remains open for any session until the Friday before camp starts at 12 pm.


  • All patrons are required to wear a mask when entering the Alberta Tennis Centre.
  • Upon arrival at the OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre, all patrons are asked to immediately hand-sanitize
  • All patrons are required to complete the wellness screening protocol at the Front Desk before entering the facility.
  • There is no spectating of any kind permitted at this time. Parents are not permitted to watch your child’s private/program lesson at this time. Parents are requested to wait in the lobby to pick up their children (5 minutes before the end of each practice)

Geared for children between the ages of 4-7 years of age, this mini tennis camp utilizes Tennis Canada’s Progressive Curriculum, using Mini-Tennis equipment and Red Tennis Balls to ensure children’s optimal success. The camp is based on Long Term Athlete Development principles and focuses on skill development, acquiring new tennis skills through a games based approach. Participants will be introduced to fundamental movement skills required for tennis and there will be a strong emphasis on cooperative play as well as technical and tactical development.


Geared for children between the ages of 7-9 years of age, this mini tennis camp utilizes Tennis Canada’s Progressive Curriculum using Mini-Tennis equipment and Orange Tennis Balls to ensure children’s optimal success. The camp is based on Long Term Athlete Development principles and focuses on skill development, acquiring new tennis skills through a games based approach. Participants will be introduced to fundamental movement skills required for tennis and there will be a strong emphasis on cooperative play as well as technical and tactical development.


This Tennis Camp is offered as a half-day and Full Day camp with a morning session from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, an afternoon session from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm or Full Day from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, for participants between the ages of 8 - 14. The camp has been designed for participants who would love to improve their tennis skills. This camp will involve a combination of tennis drills, match play sessions, some strength & injury prevention training, and conditioning for footwork, speed and agility training whilst also developing the team working, leadership and social skills of participants through alternative activities.

Nike Tennis Camps instructors are all experienced and trained tennis professionals that are chosen not just for their extensive teaching backgrounds, but also because of their energetic and positive personalities. Most of our instructors have played tennis competitively and/or have varsity experience. In addition, all Nike Tennis Camps instructors are friendly, patient and excited to teach your child. The best sports experience starts with a great instructor and we promise to provide you with skilled and helpful instructors that will guide your child through their training.
