2022 Winter Break Camp Announced!

Join Nike Tennis Camp at the Alberta Tennis Centre from December 27 - 30, in Calgary for a special winter holiday camp. The week-long junior tennis camp combines technical instruction and drills for kids of all ages and ability levels in a state-of-the-art facility. Join tennis professionals Suzana Cavalcante and Nick Coutts, who are excited to help every camper improve and have a great time!

Whether your child is interested in learning the game, playing recreationally or aspiring to become a provincial, national or international caliber athlete, we have the right program and professional staff dedicated to helping them reach their potential as a young athlete.

Suzana Cavalcante
Camp Director

Originally from Brazil, Suzana is an accomplished tennis player who as a junior, was ranked among the Top 3 players in Brazil in every age category. She trained in Florida from the age of 12 with Patricio Apey (coach of Gabriela Sabatini) and represented Brazil internationally. Suzana competed in her first WTA event at age 13 and later became a training partner of WTA Tour players Gabriela Sabatini, Mary Pierce, Mercedes Paz, Chandra Rubin and Samantha Smith. She holds a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology and Athletic Training. Suzana is Tennis Canada High Performance Coach2 certified.

PROGRAM OFFERINGS

We offer Winter, Spring and Summer Camps for players ages 4-14 with a variety of programs designed for various skill levels. Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own tennis instruction needs can be addressed throughout the week. Please register your child for a program in their appropriate age bracket. If you wish to enroll your child for a program above their age bracket, you will require coaches permission prior to starting.

Registration remains open for any session until the Friday before camp starts at 12 pm.

Choose our before & after care services from 8:00 am - 9:00 am & 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

Meals: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a packed lunch.

Dates: Tuesday - Friday

  • AM Mini Tennis (Ages 4-7) 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Fee: $265 + tax
  • AM Progressive Tennis (Ages 7-9) 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Fee: $265 + tax
  • AM / PM Skills Development (Ages 8-14) 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Fee: $305 + tax
  • Full Day Skills Development (Ages 8-14) 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Fee: $375 + tax

Before/After Care 8:00 am - 9:00 am/4:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Fee: $50 + tax per session

SAFETY PROCEDURES

  • All patrons are required to wear a mask when entering the Alberta Tennis Centre.
  • Upon arrival at the OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre, all patrons are asked to immediately hand-sanitize
  • All patrons are required to complete the wellness screening protocol at the Front Desk before entering the facility.
  • There is no spectating of any kind permitted at this time. Parents are not permitted to watch your child’s private/program lesson at this time. Parents are requested to wait in the lobby to pick up their children (5 minutes before the end of each practice)
  • More details will be emailed to campers prior to the start of camp

AM MINI TENNIS CAMP: AGES 4-7 (RED BALL TENNIS CAMP)

Geared for children between the ages of 4-7 years of age, this mini tennis camp utilizes Tennis Canada’s Progressive Curriculum, using Mini-Tennis equipment and Red Tennis Balls to ensure children’s optimal success. The camp is based on Long Term Athlete Development principles and focuses on skill development, acquiring new tennis skills through a games based approach. Participants will be introduced to fundamental movement skills required for tennis and there will be a strong emphasis on cooperative play as well as technical and tactical development.

AM PROGRESSIVE TENNIS CAMP: AGES 7-9 (ORANGE BALL TENNIS CAMP)

Geared for children between the ages of 7-9 years of age, this mini tennis camp utilizes Tennis Canada’s Progressive Curriculum using Mini-Tennis equipment and Orange Tennis Balls to ensure children’s optimal success. The camp is based on Long Term Athlete Development principles and focuses on skill development, acquiring new tennis skills through a games based approach. Participants will be introduced to fundamental movement skills required for tennis and there will be a strong emphasis on cooperative play as well as technical and tactical development.

AM/PM/FULL DAY SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CAMP: AGES 8-14 (GREEN/YELLOW BALL 'TENNIS CAMP)

This Tennis Camp is offered as a half-day and Full Day camp with a morning session from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, an afternoon session from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm or Full Day from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, for participants between the ages of 8 - 14. The camp has been designed for participants who would love to improve their tennis skills. This camp will involve a combination of tennis drills, match play sessions, some strength & injury prevention training, and conditioning for footwork, speed and agility training whilst also developing the team working, leadership and social skills of participants through alternative activities.

Nike Tennis Camps instructors are all experienced and trained tennis professionals that are chosen not just for their extensive teaching backgrounds, but also because of their energetic and positive personalities. Most of our instructors have played tennis competitively and/or have varsity experience. In addition, all Nike Tennis Camps instructors are friendly, patient and excited to teach your child. The best sports experience starts with a great instructor and we promise to provide you with skilled and helpful instructors that will guide your child through their training.

The OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre is a community-based state-of-the-art tennis facility located just off of MacLeod Trail. Our family-friendly tennis Centre is located in the heart of Acadia (Calgary SE) and covers 71,000 square feet over 3.19 acres.
