Tennis Tip: Counting Steps Between Shots

Stroke technique is an important aspect of the game, but a simple adjustment in footwork can drastically improve your shots and overall game. When practicing try this tip, count your steps between shots! When waiting for your opponent to hit the ball, when moving to hit the ball, when adjusting position, etc. After you have an approximate number of how many steps you take between shots, compare them with the recommended 8-10 steps and adjust your play to that. This will allow you to adjust yourself and keep your feet moving.
