Certified Athletic Therapist and owner of Activa Sports Therapy, serving the Edmonton and area community for over 15 years. As a former elite athlete her experience, knowledge and training bring a wealth of skills, not only in coaching but athlete health and performance optimization as well.  Andrea is an Injury prevention and strength and conditioning specialist, who has worked with all levels of sport from grassroots, youth National team development programs and professional athletes.

Anil Maharaj has taught grade 5 for the past 20 years. Working with kids, teaching them how to love learning is what I enjoy most about my job. My other passion throughout my entire life has been sports, fitness, and athletics. I have played sports my entire life, focusing on basketball, volleyball, and football. I am currently coaching in our local community and spring league basketball teams as well as coach the basketball team at my elementary school. I love teaching kids the skills that they will need both in athletics as well as showing them how to transfer those skills to using them in life. My main goal when teaching/coaching is to help the students to succeed to the best of their abilities, but to make sure they are having fun while doing so!

Josh has grown up around athletics, and basketball has long been a passion for him. He started at a young age on the tarmac at recess, and eventually progressed to the hardwood of university courts in the ACAC. He brings to The Playmaker Academy his more recent passion for coaching, having spent the last 5 years working with Junior High School teams around the city of Edmonton. He values competition, teamwork, and development and takes pride in his ability to foster connection with athletes through sport.

Born and raised in Montreal but now a proud resident of Alberta, Fadi Smaidi is the founder of Playmaker Academy, a premier multi-sport development organization. He is best described as a visionary, serial entrepreneur, coach, and community builder. At the core of his success is his desire to foster environments where people can discover their potential. Fadi believes that sports can play an important role in nurturing the next generation of leaders. Empowering kids to develop life skills, build friendships, and create lasting memories on and off the field is the mission of Playmaker Academy.
