Markham Girls Senior Academy - Tuesdays

Weekly Sessions | Beginner to Intermediate | SR - GR 6-8 (current school year)

Looking for a fun and focused way to build volleyball fundamentals after school? The Nike Girls Volleyball Clinic Academy Skills & Gameplay evening program powered by Unity Volleyball offers young athletes the perfect balance of skill development and real gameplay—all in just 90 minutes a week.

Each session includes structured drills to improve passing, serving, setting, and movement, followed by gameplay that allows athletes to apply what they’ve learned in a team setting. It’s a great way to stay active, improve technique, and build confidence on the court.

Whether your athlete is just starting out or looking to sharpen their skills, this program is a great way to grow their game—one evening at a time.

Camp Director

Coach Guiam's passion for teaching began 15 years ago, over which time he has ran camps, clinics, and workshops throughout Canada and Asia. As a former basketball player and coach at the college level and semi-pro level he too focuses and prides on skill development for all ages, as he strongly believes in improving players both on and off the court should start. He too has worked with many NCAA and Pro level athletes like Andrew Nicholson (Orlando Magic), Jevohn Shepherd (University of Michigan), Mike Fraser (Overseas), Jamal Reynolds (NBDL), Brandon Tull (Spain), Ajahmo Clarke (NBDL), Gabe Osabuohien (Arkansas), Shakur Daniels (Southern Miss.), Kevin Thomas (Troy University), and Jonathan Tull (Central Connecticut).

Q: Who can register for this program?

A: The program is open to athletes in:

  • SR (Grades 6–8)
  • No tryouts are required. All beginner to intermediate athletes are welcome.

Q: What will my child learn?

A: Each session blends skill-building drills with real gameplay. Athletes will improve fundamentals like passing, serving, setting, and movement, while learning teamwork, court positioning, and game confidence.

Q: What is the session format?

A: Each 90-minute session includes:

  • Warm-up and movement prep
  • Skill-focused drills (passing, serving, setting, etc.)
  • Gameplay to apply skills in a team setting

Q: What do athletes need to bring?

  • Filled Water bottle
  • Packed lunch
  • Towel
  • Sports bag
  • Sneakers
  • Hat/Sunscreen (outdoor camps)
  • Signed forms (Customer Portal)

Q: When should we arrive?

A: Please arrive 10–15 minutes early so your athlete is ready to start on time.

DROP OFF/ PICK UP LOCATIONS

Mount Joy Sports Dome - Parking and Drop off are at the Community Center parking lot, then walk up to the Sports Dome. DO NOT DRIVE UP THE PATHWAY.

Q: Are parents allowed to stay and watch?

A: Yes, parents are welcome to stay and watch. If weather conditions are wet or snowy, please wipe off shoes before entering the facility.

Q: What if the program is full?

A: Spots are limited, and registration is first-come, first-served. If the program reaches capacity, a waitlist may be available.

Q: What happens if a session is cancelled?

A: In rare cases, cancellations may occur due to facility issues, permit changes, or severe weather. Families will be notified by email, and updates will also be shared through Unity’s communication channels.

Q: Who leads the program?

A: All sessions are led by Unity’s experienced and supportive coaches who are passionate about developing young athletes in a positive environment.

  • Dates: Tuesdays, April 7 - June 9 (10 Weeks) 
  • Price: $299.00 + HST
  • Times: 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
  • Ages: SR (Grades 6–8 current school year) (Ages 11-14)
  • Skills: Beginner to Intermediate
*A one time $10 Registration Fee is charged once per camper, per clinic. Exceptions may apply.
