This summer, Ambrose University is proud to bring Calgary something truly special — the very first Ambrose University Nike Basketball Camp Series, held right here on our campus in the southwest corner of the city.

This is not your average summer camp. What makes this series exceptional, and genuinely unlike anything else available to young athletes in Calgary right now, is who is behind it and who will be on the court with your athletes every single day.

The entire Nike Basketball Camp Series has been designed and developed by the Ambrose Lions varsity coaching staff. Every session, every drill progression, every teaching moment has been carefully built by coaches who understand what it takes to compete and develop athletes at the university level.

But here is what makes this a rare privilege for every camper who registers:It is the Ambrose Lions Varsity Head Coaches themselves, Neil Nystrom and Aphia Ward, along with actual Ambrose Lions varsity athletes, who will be on the court delivering every session, coaching every skill, and working directly with your athlete throughout the week. Your camper will not be handed off to junior staff or outside instructors. They will have direct, on-court access to the real coaches and real varsity players of the Ambrose Lions Basketball programs.

Find your inner Lion! This camp locks in on the fundamentals that matter most — shooting, ball handling, passing, and defence — all while you share the floor with Ambrose Lions varsity players and coaches. Learn the game, make new friends, and experience what it means to train inside a real university program. Let us hear you roar!

August Youth Camp | Ages 10–14 | Boys & Girls | August 13 - 15, 2026

Find your inner Lion...Round two! Same elite coaching, same Lions energy — and this time a Mini-Tournament on the final day to put everything you have learned to the test. Sharpen your fundamentals, build your game, and head into fall with real momentum. Let us hear you roar!

Full Day Youth Basketball Camp ★ Feature Camp | Ages 10–14 | Boys & Girls | August 17 - 20, 2026

More court time. More coaching. More Lions. This full-day camp is the deepest dive into the Nike Basketball experience we offer — four full days immersed in skill development, competition, and the culture of Ambrose Lions basketball. Coached by university staff and varsity players invested in your growth. Find your inner Lion. Let us hear you roar!

High School Pre-Season Prep Camp | Ages 15 - 17| Experienced Players Only | Boys & Girls | August 18 - 20, 2026

This is not a fundamentals camp - this is compete mode. Built exclusively for serious high school players, this high-performance session pushes your game to its ceiling: team concepts, defensive intensity, ball movement, attacking the basket, and learning to think the game. Coached by Lions head coaches who know exactly what it takes to compete at the next level. Lace up and let's go.

Effective player-to-coach ratios and positive reinforcement ensure that each palyer improves at her or his own pace while having a blast! This is simply about instilling the passion of the game.
