Join us for Nike Basketball Camp in Kingston, an exciting Summer 2026 youth basketball camp designed to help players elevate their game. This co-ed basketball camp for athletes ages 10–16 with intermediate to advanced skill levels focuses on developing essential fundamentals through high-energy drills, competitive gameplay, and structured skill development sessions.

Led by experienced Head Coach Anthony Alao, campers receive personalized coaching aimed at improving basketball IQ, technique, and confidence on the court.

Monday & Friday: Calvin Park Public School Outdoor Basketball Courts:

  • Pick Up and Drop Off
    • Monday and Friday Campers will walk over to the Kingston Centre (mall) for lunch so AM Half Day Camper Pickup will take place at 12:00 PM at the Kingston Centre Food Court.
    • Monday & Friday AM Half Day and Full Day Camper Morning Drop off will be at Calvin Park, and Full Day Camper End of Day Pick up will be at Calvin Park

Anthony Alao
Head Coach

Anthony is the founder of Thousand Island Basketball and an experienced and passionate basketball professional, with over ten years of coaching, hosting and training grassroots and professional  basketball events, camps, combines and tournaments in Canada and Dominican Republic.  A graduate from Fiba Academy Manager's program and is NCCP Basketball Coaching level 1. Currently he operates Thousand Island Basketball League and coaches junior high school basketball in Gananoque, Ontario.

CAMP DETAILS

At Nike Basketball Camp – Kingston, players will engage in skill-building drills, conditioning exercises, and game simulations designed to reinforce fundamentals and strategic play. The program focuses on high-repetition training, allowing campers to make mistakes, learn, and grow in a supportive environment. By the end of the camp, participants will leave with improved skills, a deeper understanding of the game, and increased confidence on the court.

SAMPLE DAY SCHEDULE (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday @ KECC)

8:30 AM- 9:00 AM:  Check in/ Attendance

9:10 AM: Morning Huddle and warm up with Coach Introductions / Rules

9:30 AM: Offensive skills Focus stations: handling pressure (ball handling + footwork), making reads, shooting off the dribble and on the move, etc

10:30 AM: Snack Break

10:45 AM: Defensive skills Focus stations- slides, close outs, recovery, help side, etc

12:00 PM- 12:30 PM: LUNCH (AM Half Day Campers Pick Up @ 12PM)

12:30 PM: Back in the Gym

12:35 PM: Shooting Focus: Rhythm shooting, getting to spots, fun shooting games

2:15 PM: 3x3 Continuous and or Patch Adams Scrimmage

3:00 PM: Full Day Camper Pick Up

SAMPLE DAY SCHEDULE (Monday & Friday @ Calvin Park Public School Outdoor Basketball Courts)

Due to limited indoor court availability on Monday and Friday, Off The Glass Basketball (OTGB) will utilize the outdoor basketball courts at Calvin Park Public School. This adjustment provides an opportunity to create a unique competition-based learning environment while maintaining our commitment to high-quality athlete development.

The outdoor setting supports our Constraint-Led Approach (CLA), encouraging athletes to adapt to changing environmental conditions while developing basketball decision-making, communication, resilience, teamwork, and competitiveness.

9:00 – 9:20 a.m.

  • Athlete arrival and check-in
  • Camp expectations and safety briefing
  • Dynamic warm-up and movement preparation

9:20 – 9:45 a.m.

  • Team formation
  • Team introductions
  • Rules, sportsmanship expectations and tournament format

Game Play

With 18–20 athletes, participants will be divided into 4 balanced teams of 4–5 players.

Each team will compete in a round-robin format, ensuring every team plays each of the other three teams.

Games will be approximately 12 minutes running time (or first team to 15 points), allowing for multiple competitive games while managing athlete workload.

Standings will be determined by:

  1. Wins
  2. Point differential
  3. Head-to-head result (if applicable)

Throughout pool play, coaches will observe and provide brief teaching moments focused on:

  • Decision-making
  • Offensive spacing
  • Defensive communication
  • Transition play
  • Teamwork and leadership

10:15 a.m.

  • Hydration and recovery break (10 minutes)

Game play resumes until lunch.

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Lunch Break

Athletes and staff will walk together to the Kingston East Community Centre (KECC) for lunch before returning to Calvin Park Public School.

  • Note: AM Half Day Campers pick up location is KECC at 12:00 PM

12:30 – 2:30 p.m.

Continuation of pool play and competitive games as required to finalize standings.

Additional challenge games and situational competitions may be incorporated to reinforce the day's teaching themes.

Scheduled hydration breaks will occur approximately every 30–40 minutes, with additional breaks provided based on weather conditions and athlete needs.

2:30 – 3:00 p.m.

  • Team reflections
  • Daily awards and recognition
  • Review of key learning points
  • Preview of the next camp day
