Coaches

Jason Knight
Camp Director

My name is Jason Knight, and I have been coaching basketball for 23 years and playing for 30 years. I learned early on in my high school career after a knee injury would redirect my athletic career, that coaching was my passion. I grew to appreciate the complexities of the game by being mentored by BC High School Sports Hall of Fame coach Greg Leino. I began coaching the grade 8 boys’ team at Delta Secondary School and led that team to the district final as a junior. Many of my players have gone on to play professionally all over the world. I have since coached for Canada Basketball, Basketball BC, Toronto Raptors Youth programs, including NBA Canada’s World Basketball outreach program. I have assisted with the Raptors Training Camps 2017 and 2018 as a shooting coach working with Toronto Raptors and Raptors 905 players. My work with NBA Canada led to me being contacted by former Raptor Danny Green to assist with running his two day camp of just over 200 campers. This was the largest basketball camp run in BC to date. I most recently was Director of Coaching for the South Delta Basketball Association, responsible for developing young and new coaches. As strategic director of their club program, SDBA became the largest youth basketball program in the Lower Mainland with over 550 players. Our U16 and U13 boy’s teams have won numerous local club tournaments. I am Learn to Train Certified and Train to Train trained with Canada Basketball. Representing Vancouver Coastal, my 2018 BC Summer Games U14 girls finished 4th. With my move to Vancouver Island, I will continue to support the growth of basketball through my affiliation with Flight Basketball. I specialize in in-game strategy, elite skill development, and basketball decision making, with a focus on the alignment with the Long Term Athlete Development model established by Canada Basketball. I look forward to working with the athlete on their pursuit of excellence.
