This Girls Only Camp is a 2 Day Camp on June 13 & 14, 2026 at Dalhousie Agricultural Campus in Truro, Nova Scotia!

Set your daughter apart with elite coaching, professional players, and national team experience. Train with National Team athlete Daneesha Provo a professional player with NCAA Division I experience alongside,  Truro Tidal Queens woman players,  and Mike MacKay, Canada Basketball Women’s High Performance Program Manager.

Born and raised in Truro, MacKay is an Olympic-level coach and Hall of Famer who brings world-class experience and proven systems that develop confident, high-performing athletes. This is more than a camp it’s a high-level training experience designed to elevate your daughter’s game.

Daneesha Provo | Founder DPCBA & Nike Sports Camps Camp Director

A proud native of North Preston, Daneesha’s journey is one of resilience and purpose. At just 14 years old, she left home to chase her basketball dreams, earning an academic scholarship to attend Kent Preparatory School in Connecticut (one of the top boarding schools in the United States). There, she became the all-time leading scorer with over 1,782 career points, laying the foundation for an extraordinary career.

She went on to play NCAA Division I basketball at the University of Utah, where she earned two degrees, a Bachelor of Arts in Health Science (Child Life) and Sociology with a minor in Disabilities Studies. Her success on the court and in the classroom made her one of Atlantic Canada’s most accomplished athletes and student leaders.

As the founder and CEO of the Daneesha Provo Canadian Basketball Academy (DPCBA), Daneesha is a former professional basketball player who represented Team Canada from 2013 to 2018 and was selected to the Olympic team trials roster, but was unable to compete due to a torn achilles tear she did in practice.. Through her academy, she has turned her passion for basketball into a powerful platform for empowering young women using the game as a connector for leadership, education, mentorship, and personal growth across Atlantic Canada.

Her professional basketball career has taken her around the world competing in Germany, Greece, Spain, China, and Australia, and traveling to more than 20 countries through the opportunities basketball has given her.

Despite facing career-changing injuries  including an ACL tear in 2019 and an Achilles tear in 2021, just two weeks before the Olympics ,Daneesha turned every setback into a setup for something greater. Out of adversity, she built a movement that inspires young athletes to chase their dreams and never give up.

Today, Daneesha is not only a professional athlete, national team member, and entrepreneur, but also a motivational speaker, mentor, and community leader. Her story continues to uplift youth, athletes, and audiences everywhere  teaching the power of hard work, and purpose.

Mike Mackay
Coach

Coach Bio : Mike MacKay

Mike MacKay is the Women’s High Performance Program Manager for Canada Basketball and a highly respected leader in Canadian sport. Born and raised in Truro, Nova Scotia, he has over 40 years of experience in coaching, coach education, and athlete development.

He has represented Canada on the international stage, contributing to multiple Olympic Games and FIBA Women’s World Cups, and has worked within the NCAA as a Master Coach Developer. A Hall of Famer with both Canada Basketball and Basketball Nova Scotia, MacKay is known for building high-performance systems and developing athletes at every level.

Lonnie States

Coach Bio: Lonnie States

Lonnie States is the Head Coach of the Truro Tidal Queens and a highly experienced coach at both the collegiate and professional levels. He has coached with the UPEI Panthers in Charlottetown and has experience in the NBL, including with the Halifax Hoopers. Known for his strong leadership and player development, States brings a pro-level approach focused on skill execution, game strategy, and building confident, competitive athletes.

  • All Ages (Both Age Groups) Workshop (Game IQ / Leadership): 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
