2026 March Break Nike Futsal Camp at Battle Arena Markham

NEW FOR MARCH BREAK 2026!!

The Nike Futsal Camp at Battle Arena in Markham offers an exciting and inclusive experience for young athletes ages 7–14, welcoming players of all skill levels. This co-ed camp is designed to help athletes learn, play, and grow in a fun, fast-paced futsal environment. Another specialized feature of the camp is a Daily Goalkeeper Session that will focus on developing the fundamental skills every young keeper needs (additional details below).

Campers will develop core futsal and soccer skills such as ball control, passing, movement, creativity, and decision-making through engaging drills and small-sided games. With an emphasis on speed of play and technical development, futsal provides players with more touches on the ball and constant involvement, helping them build confidence and improve quickly.

Led by Coach Rahim and the experienced coaches from Red Tornado FC, the Nike Futsal Camp encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game. Whether your child is new to futsal or looking to sharpen their skills, this camp delivers a memorable and impactful experience where athletes can learn, compete, and play without limits

The March Break camp will run 5 days from March 16 - 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM. Our team of coaches are ready to help campers improve their game, make friends and play without limits!

DAILY GOALKEEPER SPECIALIZED SESSIONS

Training is structured around five key areas:

  • Technique: Proper body position, diving mechanics, and safe falling techniques.
  • Mobility: Footwork, agility, coordination, and quick reactions.
  • Jumping: Vertical and lateral jumps to improve explosiveness and aerial control.
  • Handling: Secure catching, hand positioning, and ball protection.
  • Positioning: Understanding angles, goal coverage, and decision-making.

The program emphasizes confidence, discipline, and technical development in a safe, dynamic, and motivating environment.

Head Coach

Professional Biography – Jairo Palacios

Jairo Palacios is a football coach with over 20 years of experience leading and developing high-performance football projects in Colombia and Canada. His career combines strong academic preparation, competitive experience, and proven leadership across youth, amateur, and professional levels.

He holds a professional degree in Physical Activity and Sport, along with advanced courses and postgraduate studies in Technical Direction and Physical Preparation, providing a solid scientific and methodological foundation for player development and team performance. In Canada, he further specialized as a Personal Fitness Trainer, with a specific focus on football-related physical conditioning.

Jairo’s football journey began at the age of eight with Deportivo Cali, one of Colombia’s most prestigious clubs, and later continued with the Valle del Cauca Provincial Team, experiences that shaped his football identity and deep understanding of long-term player development.

In Colombia, he served as Provincial Head Coach for the Valle del Cauca team and gained professional experience coaching in the Copa LFA, strengthening his perspective on elite competition, tactical management, and performance standards.

In Canada, Jairo has worked with multiple football academies, gaining firsthand knowledge of the Canadian football system, structure, and playing style. This experience has allowed him to effectively adapt his approach while projecting a clear competitive identity. His teams are built around a South American football philosophy, emphasizing technical ball control, organized pressing, decision-making under pressure, and strong tactical discipline.

As a key leader within the Red Tornado , Jairo has guided teams to consistent competitive success and sustainable development. Under his leadership, Red Tornado teams have achieved the following results:

In 2025, he coached a team of 18–23-year-old players in the Retas Tournament, finishing third place among 16 teams, highlighting his ability to develop competitive teams in transition-to-performance age groups.

Rahim Jamal
Head Coach

Head coach Rahim Jamal

Rahim Jamal is a former competitive footballer and experienced youth soccer coach with an extensive playing and coaching background across multiple countries.

He represented Nairobi City at a national tournament in Mombasa, Kenya, before continuing his playing career in Canada, competing at both college and university levels. Rahim also played internationally in the China University Football League (CUFL) from 2002 to 2005, gaining valuable experience in diverse football environments.

With over 12 years of experience coaching youth soccer, Rahim is passionate about developing young players through structured training, strong fundamentals, and a positive learning environment. His coaching approach focuses on technical development, confidence building, and long-term player growth.

Rahim is dedicated to helping players reach their potential while instilling discipline, respect, and a love for the game.

Juan Sebastian Amariles
Coach

Juan Sebastián Amariles Varon was born in Cali, Colombia. From a young age, he showed an interest in sports, beginning his training with teams such as Sarmiento Lora, América de Cali, Boca Juniors de Cali, Quindío Deportes, Valour FC, Future Starts, and Veracruz Sharks FC. Over time, he stood out in soccer for his skills as a goalkeeper. Throughout his career, he has participated in competitions such as the Vallecaucana Soccer League, Copa Bombón Bum, the National Tournament, the Manitoba Major League, the Manitoba Elite Soccer Tournament, and Retas Toronto, achieving significant results as the best goalkeeper in several of these competitions. Thanks to his discipline, effort, and perseverance, he has established himself as a great goalkeeper, renowned for his technique and skill between the posts. Currently, Juan Sebastián continues training and competing with the goal of playing in professional leagues, serving as an example of dedication and self-improvement in the sporting arena.

Juan Sebastián Amariles is a football goalkeeper coach with 4 years of experience in the development and training of goalkeepers in different competitive environments. He has worked with clubs and academies such as Club Deportivo Vélez, Pasión por el Arco Goalkeeping School, UDM Manitoba, E&E Sports Managers Agency, Panthers FC, Jogo Bonito FC, Red Tornado FC, and Tocata FC.

He holds multiple certifications from Canada Soccer Association, which support his professional background and commitment to continuous education and modern goalkeeping training methodologies.

His coaching approach focuses on the technical, tactical, and mental development of goalkeepers, emphasizing key aspects such as positioning, aerial play, shot-stopping, reflexes, decision-making, and playing out from the back. Juan Sebastián is known for being a disciplined, dedicated, and approachable coach, committed to maximizing each goalkeeper’s individual performance and their positive impact on the team.

    • Half Day $189 + HST (EARLY BIRD)
    • Full Day $289 + HST (EARLY BIRD)
*A one time $35 Registration Fee is charged once per camper, per year. Exceptions may apply.
