BACK FOR SUMMER 2026!

Our popular Volleyball Camps were a smash hit in 2025.  Young athletes are afforded the opportunity to directly train on court with a University Coaches and athletes. Coach Caceres oversees the University Coaches and Athletes that provide Nike Campers with high-level instruction, emphasizing skill refinement, game awareness, and competitive confidence.

Coach Jose's expertise ensures that every athlete leaves camp with improved technique, a deeper understanding of the game, and the tools to excel at higher levels of competition.  Coach José Cáceres, a Chartered Professional Coach (ChPC) with over 20 years of coaching experience at the professional, collegiate, and national team levels. Coach Cáceres has led high-performance programs in Italy, the United States, Peru, St. Lucia, Spain, and Canada. In 2023, he was recognized as the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association’s Men’s Volleyball Coach of the Year for Canada.

Our Nike Volleyball Camps provide specialized progressive training, focus on the enhancement of fundamental techniques, and aim to guide players to a better overall game understanding.

Sample of Key Training Areas dependent on camp selected:

  • Serve Reception Mastery – Handling both float and topspin serves, platform control, footwork adjustments, and angle precision.
  • Technical Skill Development – Advanced passing mechanics, defensive transitions, and emergency plays (pancake, collapse digs, extension dives).
  • Tactical Awareness – Understanding blocking schemes, back-row attack coverage, and smart decision-making in fast-paced rallies.
  • Footwork & Balance – Mastering jump setting, reverse pivot, and transition footwork for faster, more accurate sets.
  • Setting & Game Awareness – Refining hand positioning, footwork, and decision-making for effective playmaking.
  • Defensive Skills – Learning proper positioning, reaction time, and techniques for digging and court coverage.

Directors / Coaches

Claude Bolton
Camp Director

Bolton is a Chartered Professional Coach (ChPC), with a Master of Education in Coaching Studies, from University of Victoria.

An extensive background in Coach Development, Coach Bolton has guided, facilitated, and mentored hundreds of coaches in courses and youth development programs in 5 countries. This has framed Coach Claude’s understanding of different interpretations of program delivery. His insistence on a player-centered approach for the development of children and young athletes ensures both a responsible and ethical approach to long term athlete development.

Within the Ambrose University Sports Academy Network, Coach Bolton guides the design, development, and assessment of our Nike Camps programming as part of our Sports Development Team. His expertise in the sport of soccer has afforded him professional, national, and provincial coaching appointments in United States, Guyana, Trinidad, India, Alberta, Ontario, & British Columbia. as well as having lead varsity programs in both the university and college ranks. While in Toronto, he received the 3M Recognition award for his outstanding contribution to support community soccer in Ontario.

Jose Caceres
Co-Director

Coach Jose Caceres | Performance Coach

Jose Antonio Caceres Pawlikowski is a Chartered Professional Volleyball Coach (ChPC) and an NCCP Performance Coach, holding the Advanced Coaching Diploma (ACD) from the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). With over two decades of coaching experience at the professional, collegiate, and national team levels, he has developed and led high-performance programs in Italy, the United States, Peru, St. Lucia, Spain and Canada.

Prior to taking over the role of Ambrose University Athletic Director, Coach Caceres was the Head Coach of the Ambrose University Men’s Volleyball Team, where he was recognized as the CCAA Men’s Volleyball Coach of the Year and the ACAC South Coach of the Year. His coaching philosophy is athlete-centered and holistic, focusing on technical excellence, tactical intelligence, and mental performance.

A dedicated mentor and educator, he has trained elite athletes through specialized skill development programs and has a passion for helping players refine their game through innovative training methods. With formal education in High-Performance Coaching and Technical Leadership from the University of Leipzig and the University of British Columbia (UBC), he brings a scientific and evidence-based approach to volleyball training.

At the Nike Volleyball Camps, Coach Caceres oversees the University Coaches and Athletes that provide Nike Campers with high-level instruction, emphasizing skill refinement, game awareness, and competitive confidence. Coach Jose's expertise ensures that every athlete leaves camp with improved technique, a deeper understanding of the game, and the tools to excel at higher levels of competition.

Emmitt Juul-Hansen
Head Coach

Emmitt Juul-Hansen | NIKE CAMP HEAD COACH

Emmitt Juul-Hansen is a former elite university/collegiate setter with over 2,000 career assists, ranking Top 10 all-time in ACAC history and standing as the all-time assists leader in Ambrose University men’s volleyball history.

Coach Juul-Hansen is currently coaching with the Ambrose University Men’s Volleyball program as the Lead Assistant Coach, where he is responsible for setter development, supports practice planning, and contributes to in-game tactical decision-making alongside Head Coach Jose Caceres.

Emmitt brings extensive coaching experience across multiple levels of the sport. He has served as an Assistant Coach with Team Alberta, supporting high-performance provincial athletes in elite competition environments.

He also has significant experience in youth development and camp programming, including camp directing and assistant coaching roles with Volleyball Alberta (Camp Head Coach), NBC Camps (Camp Director), Phoenix Volleyball Club (Assistant Coach), and Lions Volleyball Club (Assistant Coach & Camp Director). In these roles, he has led technical development, athlete mentorship, and structured skill progression for athletes of various ages and levels.

Internationally, Emmitt has worked as a Coach and Camp Director in Spain, where he led technical training sessions, supported athlete learning in multilingual environments, and guided players through structured technical and tactical development.

Continuing his coaching growth, Emmitt is currently expanding his international experience by travelling to Romania to learn from one of the world’s top Italian volleyball coaches, further deepening his understanding of youth development, high-performance systems, and elite coaching methodologies.

His coaching philosophy focuses on:

Emmitt is passionate about helping young athletes grow both on and off the court, using his experience as a high-level player and emerging coach to support the next generation of volleyball players.

Camp Overview: This is a once-in-a-season opportunity you won't want to miss. Designed by a Professional Coach specifically for liberos and outside hitters, this Nike Volleyball Camp delivers specialized drills, high-intensity training, and tactical game scenarios with a focused emphasis on serve reception and defensive play.

Train alongside some of Calgary's top club players in a high-intensity environment built for serious athletes. Whether you are sharpening your passing game or tightening your defensive positioning, this camp is built to elevate your performance to the next level.  You will be competing against the best in the city while building lasting connections with players who share your commitment to the game.

Camp Overview: This Nike Volleyball Camp is dedicated to setters who want to master the technical, tactical, and leadership aspects of their position. Training with a Professional Coach, athletes will focus on precision setting, court awareness, and offensive strategy to help players become the backbone of their teams. Spaces extremely limited for this Camp.

Camp Overview: This camp is designed and delivered by professional coaches for players who want to develop and refine their technical skills in a structured and supportive environment. Through focused drills, expert instruction, and progressive training, athletes will enhance their fundamental techniques and overall game understanding.

Where on Campus is the Camp Located: These sessions take place in the Lions Den Gymnasium in Ambrose University's Main Academic Building.  The main parking lot and entrance to the Lions Den is in the back of the building.

What time is check-in and check-out:  Check-ins begin 35 mins prior to the beginning of camp.  Campers are expected to check-in no later than 15 mins. prior to the start of the session. Check-outs commence immediately following the end of the Camp Session.

Spectators:  Only participants are permitted into the gymnasium.  There are no spectators during sessions.

PACKING LIST

  • Filled Water bottle
  • Sports bag
  • Sneakers / Volleyball Shoes
  • Hat/Sunscreen (outdoor camps)
